Decorating tips

Consider the size and height of your reception space. Large vaulted ceilings look better with a taller centre piece.

If you worry about your guests being able to see each other, choose a container that raises the flowers above eye level or choose very low table centers.

For brides on a budget or those looking for something different than a traditional centre piece, a simple glass bowl with a few floating candles and flower blooms surrounded with pebbles or shells can look very chic.

Candelabras are always popular at weddings but can be a little overpowering. As an alternative you can use lower arrangements that also include candles, creating a layered effect. Dress long banqueting tables by adding a runner down the centre and using an assortment of different-sized small vases filled with simple flowers to create a picnic-style atmosphere.

Placing a mirror in the centre of a round table or using small mirrors (even mirror tiles) down the middle of a long table you will create a sparkly effect and maximise the impact of the flowers.

A tall, slim glass vase with a beautiful cymbidium orchid bloom and a spray if of elegant steel grass will have far more impact than a selection of cheap flowers in a plastic bowl, costing about the same.
